I’m Sandy Chatha—a life coach, entrepreneur and mentor. My journey has been defined by courage and resilience through loss, transition, and reinvention. Born in Punjab and raised in Vancouver, I am proud of my Indian-Punjabi heritage and a life path that has been anything but ordinary.
In 1989, I was honored to become the first female RCMP Police Constable from the Sikh community. Soon after joining, life presented a choice between my career and family obligations, I chose to support my family. This transition led me to become a Customs Officer in 1992, beginning a 31-year career with the Canada Border Services Agency. Following my retirement from the CBSA in 2023, I translated that expertise into a supply chain safety and security consulting business.
In addition to my public service, I have built several businesses from the ground up in the hospitality, insurance, coaching, and consulting industries. These ventures taught me the invaluable lesson of maintaining multiple streams of income, particularly when they align with one's passions.
On a personal level, I have navigated significant challenges, including becoming a widow at 39 and raising four sons as a single mother. More recently, I have managed health issues, the loss of my mother, and becoming the primary caregiver for a family member. Despite these trials, I remain deeply committed to my professional goals and providing my clients with dedicated service.
While life coaching, insurance, and supply chain security may seem distinct, they are all rooted in managing risk, responsibility, and resilience. Whether I am coaching an individual through a life transition, helping a family plan for the unexpected, or assisting a logistics company with cross-border requirements, my objective is to help others navigate change and prepare for the future.

A Remarkable Journey of Resilience and Achievement:
I am a confident and humble Indo-Canadian woman, blessed with a multitude of talents. My life's journey began in Punjab, India where I was born. I then immigrated to the UK at the age of one and to Canada at the age of seven. Vancouver, British Columbia became my home for the next 40 years of my life. Currently, I reside in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.
At the age of 19, I embraced an arranged marriage, conforming to cultural norms of the time. I wed my husband just before turning 20, and we embarked on a wonderful journey together, with all our dreams coming to fruition.
In 1989, at the age of 21, I made history by becoming the first Indo-Canadian woman from the Sikh community to join the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Sworn in as a police constable, I underwent rigorous training at the RCMP's Depot in Regina, Saskatchewan. Following successful completion, I was stationed in Leduc, Alberta, where I proudly became the first visible minority to serve in this community. This experience was eye-opening, as I transitioned from the diverse landscape of Vancouver to this unique setting, but I embraced the challenge and relished my time in law enforcement.
Family has always been my priority, and in 1990, due to family obligations, I made the difficult decision to leave the RCMP. Shortly thereafter, I embarked on a 31-year career with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) until my retirement in early 2023.
In addition to my full-time career, I ventured into entrepreneurship and investment. The loss of my husband in 2007 fueled my determination to achieve financial independence and serve as a strong role model for my children. I successfully managed multiple businesses over the years.
My professional endeavors encompass coaching, consulting, life insurance, hospitality, involvement in a new airline startup, and media hosting. Following my retirement from the CBSA, I started my own cross-border consulting company, a project five years in the making. This business represents my ultimate passion and aspiration—a family-owned enterprise that will endure as a legacy for future generations of the Chatha-Khaira clan.
I take immense pride in upholding my Punjabi heritage, culture, language, family values, morals, and ethics. My faith is rooted in Sikhism, and while I believe in a higher power, I identify as more spiritual than religious. I respect and honor all religious and spiritual beliefs and never impose my own on others.
A Sagittarius at heart, I have a keen interest in astrology, numerology, and the power of manifestation, as well as a fascination with psychics, mediums, and spirit guides. I embrace what resonates with me and leave behind what doesn't. I firmly believe in the strength of the mind and willpower.
Throughout my life, I've faced numerous traumas and heartaches, yet I continue to embrace life to its fullest. I've learned to heal from pain and use it as a source of strength to propel me forward.
My bucket list includes traveling the world and exploring at least one new country each year. I also challenge myself to learn a new activity or skill annually. I look forward to meeting individuals from diverse backgrounds, each with their distinct life stories. I'm excited about the prospect of meeting some of you while I'm traveling.
